2012’s Sexiest Man Alive is Channing Tatum

November 17, 2012

People magazine has named their Sexiest Man Alive and the winner for 2012 is none other than Channing Tatum. Blair Stover has the details below.

The 32-year-old actor from Alabama was surprised when he learned he had won this award. He said, “My first thought was, ‘Y’all are messing with me.’” He broke the news to his wife, co-star of “Step-Up” Jenna Dewan-Tatum, while washing their dogs in the bathtub. Now instead of using his name, Jenna calls Channing “Sexiest Man Alive.”

Channing Tatum is known for his good physique and is currently training to play an Olympic athlete in a 2013 film called “Foxcatcher.” When asked about his body Tatum stated, “I like to be lean. When Jenna was asked about her husband she said he’s so much more than the Sexiest Man Alive. “People know him to be fun and sexy, but they don’t know how emotionally deep and spiritually open he is. He is such an open-hearted person; what you see if what your get.”

Jenna and Channing said they are looking forward to starting a family soon.

Channing joins Bradley Cooper, Johnny Depp, and George Clooney on the list of Sexiest Man Alive winners.

Mila Kunis Named Sexiest Woman Alive

October 25, 2012

‘Esquire’ magazine has named Mila Kunis the Sexiest Woman of 2012. Blair Stover has the details below.

‘Esquire’ describes the Ukrainian born actress, Kunis, as “the most beautiful, opinionated, talkative, and funny movie star that we’ve all known since she was nine.”

Kunis is known for her roles in That 70’s Show, Friends with Benefits, Black Swan, Ted, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, and the voice of Meg on the TV show Family Guy.

While Kunis tends to keep certain things private, she is not afraid to speak her mind about politics. “The way that Republicans attack women is so offensive to me. And the way they talk about religion is offensive. I may not be a practicing Jew, but why we gotta talk about Jesus all the time? And it’s baffling to me how a poor person in Georgia can say, ‘I’m a Republican.’ Why?” she said. “Some people don’t like to hear celebrities talk about politics. I don’t think I’m a celebrity. I’m a working actress. I think there’s a difference.”

2012’s runners-up were Jessica Chastain, Anne Hathaway, Gabourey Sidibe, and Katie Holmes.

Kunis joins the ranks of Rihanna, Halle Berry, and Charlize Theron as ‘Esquire’s’ choice of Sexiest Woman Alive.

J.K. Rowling Not Closing Door on More Harry Potter Stories

October 17, 2012

J.K. Rowling released her first book since the”Harry Potter” series on September 27th, “The Casual Vacancy.” Although Rowling is starting to move on in her career, writing a book aimed at more of an adult crowd, doesn’t mean that she’s putting “Harry Potter” completely behind her.

Rowling recently did an interview with BBC and stated that she’s “done” with the Harry Potter story, but said that she has “left the door ajar” just in case magical idea pops into her head. She said, “If I had a fabulous idea that came out of that world, because I loved writing it, I would do it. But I’ve got to have a great idea.”

She also told BBC News that at some point she would like to go back and rewrite the first few “Harry Potter” books. “There were a couple of the ‘Potters’ and I definitely knew that they needed another year,” she said. “I had to write on the run and there were times when it was really tough, and I read them, and I think ‘Oh God, maybe I’ll go back and do a director’s cut’, I don’t know. But you know what, I’m proud I was writing under the conditions under which I was writing, no one will ever know how tough it was at times.”

Blair Stover’s fingers are crossed that a brilliant “Harry Potter” idea comes to J.K. Rowling very soon! Possibly a follow-up to that James Potter and Sirius Black prequel she penned several years back?
