Hathaway to Star in Adaption of ‘The Taming of the Shrew’

January 30, 2013

Anne Hathaway recently won a Golden Globe for her stunning role in Tom Hooper’s musical hit ‘Les Miserables.’ Hathaway is also regarded as a shoe-in for Best Supporting Actress at the Oscar’s next month.

Despite her recent busy schedule, it doesn’t seem that she will be taking much time off. Reports have come out that she is set to star in a modern interpretation of William Shakespeare’s ‘The Taming of the Shrew.’

‘The Taming of the Shrew’ is one of Shakespeare’s most popular plays and has been adapted to the silver screen many times. The most recent film was ’10 Things I Hate About You’ in 1999.

Hathaway was supposed to star in Spielberg’s scifi- ‘Robopocalypse’ with Chris Hemsworth but that project has been postponed indefinitely. With that project on hold, Blair Stover believes that the production of ‘The Taming of the Shrew’ may happen sooner than planned.

Lance Armstrong Admits to Using PED’s

January 24, 2013

For years, Lance Armstrong has denied and ridiculed those who have accused him of using performance enhancing drugs during his career in cycling.

Armstrong has now ended a decade of denial by confessing to using PED’s in an interview with Oprah Winfrey. Confessing to using PED’s is a complete reversal for Armstrong after years of publicly denying the use through statements and interviews to protect his reputation.

Prior to his interview with Oprah, Armstrong made an emotional apology to the Livestrong charity that he founded after his battle with testicular cancer. Armstrong and many members of the organization were in tears after his speech when he urged them to continue their efforts in helping cancer patients.

In the past few years Armstrong has been stripped of his seven Tour de France titles, lost his endorsements and was forced to leave his foundation. All of this came after many of his fellow teammates testified that Armstrong has used PED ‘s in a lengthy USDA report. Armstrong has been barred from competing in the elite triathlon, any running evcents and has a lifetime ban in cycling.

Many considered Armstrong a hero for winning seven consecutive Tour de France titles after his long battle with testicular cancer that had spread to his lungs and brain. Blair Stover believes that Lance Armstrong’s reputation will never fully recover after this dramatic confession.

Patrick Dempsey Saves Tully’s Coffee

January 19, 2013

‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Doctor McDreamy has stepped in and saved Seattle-based coffee business Tully’s.

Patrick Dempsey has recently put in a bid against coffee super giant Starbucks to help save Tully’s which has gone bankrupt. The bid was approved by a federal judge this past week.

Patrick said in a statement, “I’ve been deeply humbled by the outpouring of support from the city of Seattle and am very proud to be a new business owner in this amazing city. We have a lot to accomplish over the next few months and years, and I am excited to now call Seattle my second home.”

While Dempsey has already made a major influence in Seattle with his role in ‘Grey’s Anatomy’, Blair Stover thinks it’s wonderful that he is using his celebrity influence to benefit a Seattle-based company.

January 14, 2013

Brad Pitt continues to expand his career in the commercial industry by becoming the new face of Cadillac. Pitt began his commercial career when Chanel announced that he would be starring in their new campaign for their most popular perfume, Chanel No. 5.

The drawback to this campaign is that the ads will be shown in China, a country that has not been pleased with Pitt being outspoken about his anger towards the Chinese government.

Neither Pitt nor Cadillac have confirmed this partnership but just days ago, Pitt joined the Chinese social networking site, Weibo. Blair Stover compares Weibo to the more common known Twitter.

It has been reported that filming for the commercial will begin this week in Los Angeles.
